What is Heart Eyes 4 Vintage and who are we you may be wondering?

justme.org – what?
This domain was gifted to me (Renee) by a group of my online friends to celebrate the birth of my youngest child. I’ve now owned this domain for more than 25 years. It’s got longevity in the eyes of the all powerful Google so for now, this is the domain I choose to use for the “softer side” of our business: Blog entries, personal favorites, links to informational websites, etc.

Grammar – let’s get this out of the way!
We use the #4 in the name because Etsy support never replied to our request on accidentally creating “Heart Eyes For Vintage” as a personal account and not a business account.

I have loved antiques and dusty old stuff ever since I was a kid. My Grandmother used to take me with her to all manner of estate, garage, yard, rummage, antique sales, places with old furniture – all the time. And she collected antiques and her house was FILLED with them. She had such a flair for seeing the pieces and displaying them!

One of my most cherished memories is of the barrister bookcase she had in the living room. Here’s a link to one that’s almost identical to what she had! This bookcase and it’s contents opened up a million new worlds for me! This is where I discovered books by Zane Grey and James Oliver Curwood and all the Britannica Encyclopedias. From that library, I still have the Kazan and Baree, Son of Kazan books and one Zane Grey and they are my treasures. <3

Over the years, and having moved so many times, I slowly had to give away many of the antique pieces I had; living in an apartment, there’s not a lot of space for larger items. I have missed being around them though and have spent many hours perusing other antique shops, “junk” stores, and flea markets just to see them in person. This brings us to Heart Eyes 4 Vintage!

This fulfills all the things that I love – I get to see, learn, and temporarily possess so many amazing treasures but then, they find a loving home and they are gone and I get to find more! I hope you find something YOU love and want for your own space.

My favorite styles and items are all over the place – I LOVE MCM 50s, 60s, and 70s era decor and furniture, primitive, arts & craft styles, old tools, old clocks, barometers and glass, milk glass, McCoy, Weller, Roseville, and Hull pottery. That’s just a small small abbreviated list – I’ve discovered so many more to add to my list!

“Growing up in Southern Arizona, I was surrounded by living history my whole childhood – Native Americans, Cowboys, Route 66, Cavalry, The OK Corral, etc. In conjunction with that, I lived just outside of a large military base, so military surplus and all its stories were woven deep into my life and grew to influence my own desire to serve.

As a teenager and young adult, I got into comic books, action figures, games, and lots of movie and music memorabilia. I collected that media for many years and just started to part with some during Covid lockdown.

Incidentally I met an amazing woman during that time period, and she has a great passion for vintage, antiques, repurposing, and just random artistic displays of skill and beauty.

Fast forward to the present. We have combined forces not just in life and love, but also a love of adventure. In these adventures, we find our “treasures” – our antiques, our links to the past, our small glimpses into bygone eras, and more importantly, unique pieces that made past lives easier to live and love. ”

SHOP POLICIES & PHILOSOPHIES

**Vintage and Antique Items – They are VINTAGE and pre-owned and loved! **

We will always list our items with the best intentions and note any issues that we see such as obvious cracks, chips, fraying etc. However, please understand that we consider the character and age of the piece part of the charm for vintage and antique items.

Some examples that we consider normal:
*Crazing in the glazes of antique plates
* Normal use wear and time
*The nature of the item and how it’s used (delicate china vs. brass candleholders)
*Patina on old brass, copper and silver, etc.
To us, this is what makes something unique and wonderfully antique/vintage.

*Cleaning, Mending, & Polishing*
We will clean, wash, oil,  and wipe down items that lend themselves to easy cleaning but for deep cleaning, polishing metal, wood, glass or metal repairs – we recommend a professional who is proficient in their field.
However, some items may be too delicate or made of a material that doesn’t lend itself to easily cleaning, and we will sell these “AS IS – AS FOUND.”

Please examine all photos of item provided and if you would like more or can’t see the details clearly, please message us! We are always happy to provide more photos and information.

Photos can be deceiving in that the color and lighting always play a role so there may be some variations outside of our control such as phone and monitor display settings! If in doubt, ASK US! 🙂

*Shipping Costs*
For items over $35, we offer free shipping.

For items under the $35 mark, we generally calculate at least 2 lb and a 6x6x6 size – this is especially true for jewelry and miniature items. If the measurements and weight are LESS than what you paid, we will refund the overages back over a $1.

If the calculation is incorrect due to packing/zip code issues, we will reach out to you prior to shipping.
